Getting started

At Europcar we strive to make your car or van hire experience as simple as possible. Here we have put together various topics of useful information, advice and help related to your electric vehicle hire.

Step 1

Press the unlock button on the key to unlock the vehicle.

Step 2

Once the vehicle is unlocked, the door handles will automatically extend as you approach the car.

Step 3

Pull the door handles to open the door.

Make sure you have the key with you.

Press the brake pedal. The vehicle will detect that you are inside and have pressed the brake pedal.

Step 3

Select the desired driving mode (Park, Drive, Reverse) using the central shift-by-wire gear selector or the corresponding control unit.

Move the gear selector into the "D" (Drive) position to start.

Step 2

Release your foot from the brake pedal, and the vehicle will slowly begin to move, without any engine noise, as it is an electric vehicle.

Step 3

Drive the electric vehicle just like a conventional car, using the accelerator to speed up and the brake pedal to slow down or stop. Use the Eco driving mode to limit acceleration and heating, which can potentially increase your range by at least 5%.

Step 1

When you are in a safe and appropriate parking position, keep your foot on the brake and shift the vehicle into "Park" or "P" using the gear lever. Turn off the vehicle by pressing the start button.

Step 2

Exit the vehicle and ensure that all doors are properly closed.

Lock the car by pressing the lock button on the remote or by touching the door handle (keyless entry system).

Step 1

Plug the charging cable into the vehicle's charging port. If the vehicle is locked, it will automatically unlock once the charging port is connected.

Step 2

On the Lucid Air's dashboard, the charging status is displayed in real-time once the vehicle is connected to a charging station. You can view the current charging power (kW) and the battery percentage.

Step 3

Once the desired charge level is reached, you can stop the charging process by disconnecting the charging cable from both the vehicle and the charging station. In most cases, the charging process will stop automatically when the cable is removed.
