Getting started

At Europcar we strive to make your car or van hire experience as simple as possible. Here we have put together various topics of useful information, advice and help related to your electric vehicle hire.

Step 1
Make sure the key or keycard is nearby. The Tavascan uses a keyless entry system, so you only need to approach the vehicle.
Step 2
Lightly touch the door handle to unlock the vehicle. The handle should light up when the vehicle recognizes the keycard or key. If necessary, you can also use the touch area on the handle to unlock the vehicle.
Step 3
Once the vehicle is unlocked, pull the door handle to open the door and enter the vehicle.
Step 1
The vehicle automatically detects the key, so all you need to do is press the brake pedal.
Step 2
Since this is an electric vehicle, don’t be surprised by the absence of engine noise. A 'READY' indicator will show that the vehicle is ready to drive.
Step 3
Keep the brake pedal pressed and select "D" (Drive) to move forward or "R" (Reverse) to move backward using the gear selector. The gear selector is located behind the steering wheel on the right side, attached to the dashboard.
Step 1
Move the gear selector to the "D" (Drive) position to begin.
Step 2
You can now release the brake pedal. The car should move forward on its own. Then, gently press the accelerator pedal to start driving.
Step 3
Drive the electric vehicle just like a conventional car, using the accelerator pedal to accelerate and the brake pedal to decelerate or stop. Use the Eco driving mode to limit acceleration and heating, which can potentially increase the range by at least 5%.
Step 1
When you are in a safe and suitable parking position, keep your foot on the brake and shift the vehicle into "Park" mode or "P" using the button at the end of the gear lever. The vehicle will automatically turn off when you exit and lock it.When you are in a safe and suitable parking position, keep your foot on the brake and shift the vehicle into "Park" mode or "P" using the button at the end of the gear lever. Step 2

Step 3
Press the button on the key to lock the vehicle.
Step 1
The charging flap of the Cupra Tavascan is located on the left side of the vehicle, at the front, behind the front left wheel. It is clearly visible and easily accessible. Open the charging flap and insert the charging cable (AC or DC, depending on the charging station) into the vehicle’s charging port. Once the plug is correctly inserted, the vehicle will automatically detect the charging process.
Step 2
During the charging process, you can view the current charge status directly on the vehicle's central touchscreen. It will display the percentage of the battery that has been charged and the remaining time until the vehicle is fully charged.
Step 3
Typically, the vehicle will automatically stop the charging process once the battery is fully charged. When the charging process is complete, this will be displayed on the vehicle's screen. If you wish to stop the charging process manually, you can do so at the charging station or through the vehicle’s display (depending on the charging method and provider). Be sure to securely close the charging flap before leaving the vehicle. After the charging process has stopped, press the charging port on the vehicle and carefully remove the charging cable.
